Exeter Science Park has been awarded £5 million from the Government’s national ‘Getting Building’ fund to develop its ‘Grow-out Building’ for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in science, technology, engineering, maths and medical (STEMM) sectors.

Exeter Science Park has launched a series of webinars to inform and inspire the region’s business community as we move into the next phase of the Covid-19 pandemic. In partnership with Devon Community Foundation, Heart of the South West Digital Skills Partnership, and SETsquared Exeter, the sessions will run online every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Work on the new Ada Lovelace Building at Exeter Science Park has begun. The 20,000 square foot speculative office and laboratory space will aim to be net zero carbon for operational energy as a result of innovative design features, including 44kw solar roof-mounted solar-voltaic panels.

Taking place on Tuesday, June 25th 2019 at Westpoint Arena, the Big Bang Fair is a national programme that celebrates and promotes careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) to young people.

The move will allow Maistro to continue to expand its team in 2019, following this year’s appointment of Chief Commercial Officer, Neale Pritchard, and the 2018 appointment of Chief Financial Officer, Ian Cleverly. Recruitment in 2019 will continue to focus on building the company’s business development and engineering teams.

Since moving into the Science Park Centre in 2016, Seedata has seen significant growth and the team has now moved across the road into the new ‘Lamarr’ Grow-on Building. It is aiming to double its staff numbers again at Exeter Science Park within the next two years, whilst opening new offices in the USA and Australia.

During a Parliamentary Debate at Westminster Hall on Tuesday 5th February 2019, Sir Hugo asked the Minster for Housing Communities and Local Government, Jake Berry for assistance to repay the loans that were taken out to fund the first phase of development at Exeter Science Park, at a time when grants were not available.

Exeter Science Park has appointed Harvey Gardner as Head of Property to develop and maintain its estate and property.
