Kevin Blakey

Kevin Blakey was elected to East Devon District Council in May 2019 and is the Cabinet member holding the Economy portfolio. He is an independent councillor, one of three representing Cranbrook on EDDC.

He is also a member of Cranbrook Town Council, having been its Chairman from when the council first came into being in 2015 until he relinquished that role after the 2019 elections to allow sufficient time to take on the responsibilities of a district councillor.

Other posts held include Chairman of the Exmouth Regeneration Board and member of the Greater Exeter Strategic Sports Board.

Kevin works as a business administrator for a specialist optoelectronics engineering unit in Exeter, which is part of a USA-based global business. His career has spanned the insurance, commercial banking, business property and food industries.
