Location
The Science Park will inhabit a 24 hectare site at Redhayes in East Devon, close to junction 29 of the M5.
Formerly agricultural land, this prime location affords the Science Park excellent access to Exeter International Airport, two railway stations, Exeter City Centre, and the M5, making it one of the best connected locations in the South West.
By air
Exeter International Airport is one of the fastest growing in the UK, handling over a million passengers in 2007. Direct flights operate into Exeter from major European cities including Paris, Dublin, Amsterdam, and Geneva, as well as domestic airports including Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Guernsey, Jersey, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, and St Marys.
Flybe’s recent stock-market flotation and codesharing agreement with British Airways and Air France point the way to further expansion in European destinations.
You can find out more about flights to and from Exeter International Airport at http://www.exeter-airport.co.uk/
By road
The Science Park is situated approximately 4 miles from Exeter City Centre by road. A Park & Ride service operates from Honiton Road nearby. The M5 and M4 link the Science Park directly to London, the Midlands, South Wales and the North including Scotland. The average journey time from either London or the Midlands is 3 hours.
By rail
Both Exeter St David’s and Tiverton Parkway stations are close to Exeter Science Park, and connect via fast trains to London (2.5 hours) and Bristol (1 hour). The Science Park site is served locally by both Pinhoe and Digby & Sowton stations.
Green alternatives
The Science Park’s transport strategy is to significantly reduce reliance on private cars. Through a combination of walking and cycling routes, and the possibility of new and improved public transport links, we aim to connect the Science Park to both Exeter City Centre and East Devon in as green a way as possible.
