Frequently Asked Questions

1. What's happening?

We are at the beginning of a very exciting time at Exeter Science Park. After many years of planning and extensive investment in infrastructure the first building on site is complete and fully let. The Science Park Centre, offering flexible workspace solutions, is due to open April 2015. We have readymade and bespoke solutions for all science and technology based occupiers.

2. Who owns the park?

The park is owned by Exeter Science Park Limited and is being made possible by shareholders: Devon County Council, University of Exeter, East Devon District Council and Exeter City Council. Supported by the Heart of South West LEP and Home and Commuities Agency.

3. Is there room for me?

The full site is some 64 acres (25 ha) giving room for the park to grow, evolve and mature over many years. It is expected that the development of the Science Park in its totality will house nearly 1million sq ft (93,000 m2) of accommodation from serviced offices to cutting edge bespoke specialist facillities.

4. Why move to a science park?

The science park will be more than a place for buildings, it will be a place for people. The driving vision is for a place where occupiers can collaborate and innovate together to support company growth. Your colleagues will be in close proximity to like minded people and benefit from dedicated business support. The park has been physically designed to combine quality modern buildings, open spaces, environmental efficencies and unrivalled communication links.

5. What is available for small start ups?

The Science Park Centre (due to open April 2015) will be the ideal environment for start up science and technology occupiers. There will be informal meeting spaces, offices available to lease on flexible or short term arrangements and fitted laboratory space available by the day or for longer projects.

6. What will the park offer to the wider region?

Exeter Science Park will be a focus for investment in the region. It will act as a hub for the knowledge base across the South West increasing the overall level of investment driven by science and technolgy businesses and organisations.

7. How many jobs will Exeter Science Park create?

It is estimated that the Science Park will create c. 3000 employees on the park once complete.

8. Who will be my neighbours?

Exeter Science Park welcomes science and technology based organisations and businesses.  The park operates a gateway policy to ensure that the ethos of the park is maintained as well as the benefits to those seeking space to innovate and collaborate with other similar occupiers. The park does impose restrictions on the type and sector of specialisms undertaken by occupiers.

9. How do I find out about the knowledge base in and around Exeter?

The Why Exeter and Science and Research sections respectively provide in depth information on the unique organisations that will contribute to the success of Exeter Science Park and can provide added value to those locating here.  We feel it is the depth and diversity of the knowledge base which surrounds the park in Exeter, Devon and beyond which is a key attraction to occupiers.
